Oral Presentations
Oral sessions are typically 60- to 90-minute live sessions moderated by a chairperson. Teleconference links are not permitted.
Full-paper presentations must not exceed 8 minutes. Following the presentation, there will be 2 minutes for questions from attendees and responses from the presenter. The chairperson may also ask additional questions.
Short communication presentations must not exceed 5 minutes, there will be 1 minute for one question from attendees and response from the presenter.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the session starts. Meet with the Session Chairs to discuss the flow and logistics.
At the end of all presentations in the session, if time permits, the chairperson may allow additional questions from attendees. If there are no further questions, the chairperson will formally close the session.
Poster Presentations
Poster presenters must prepare and bring to the conference venue a printed poster in A0 size, portrait orientation. Presenters are encouraged to be present at the Poster Area during designated sessions to discuss their work with attendees. Technical support will be available if required. Panels, Workshops, Demonstrations and Tutorials
Panels, workshops, demonstrations and tutorials are self-moderated and self-organised. However, presentations should allow interaction with attendees and allocate sufficient time for discussion before the session concludes.
Duration for:
Tutorials -> 180 minutes
Workshops -> 90 minutes
Panels -> 60 minutes
Demonstrations -> 30 minutes
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Presentation Uploading
All presentations must be in PowerPoint format and stored on a USB flash drive.
Presenters in Main Hall "Maestrale", Room1 "Scirocco", Room2 "Libeccio", Room3 "Ponente", Room4 "Levante" must upload their files at least three hours before their scheduled session at the Speakers’ Ready Room with the assistance of the technical support team.
All full papers and short communications will be presented in these rooms.
Preseters in Room5 "Aliseo", Room6 "Zefiro", Room7 "Austro" must bring their own PC with the presentation uploaded.
Only some panels, workshops, demonstrations and tutorials will be presented in these rooms. The panels, workshops, demonstrations and tutorials hosted in Room5 "Aliseo", Room6 "Zefiro", Room7 "Austro" should not upload the presentation in advance and should bring their self-organized presentations in their own PC.
Naming Convention: Presentation files must be named as follows:
[Submission ID]_[Session Number]_[Surname]_[First Name].pptx
Examples: 513_E12_Falco_Simone.pptx
910_T4_Brini_Stefano.pptx
Ensure you provide the correct session number to the technical team when uploading your file.
Uploading files directly onto the speaker’s laptop in the session room is not permitted.
Presentation Guidelines
Full-paper presentations (8 min): Prepare 8 to 10 slides, including:
Title slide (title, authors, affiliations)
Final slide (acknowledgements, contact details).
Short communication presentations (5 min): Prepare a maximum of 5 slides, including:
Title slide (title, authors, affiliations)
Final slide (acknowledgements, contact details)
Technical Recommendations
Backup Copies: A second copy of your presentation is recommended to be available, if required.
Slide Format: Maintain a consistent layout throughout the presentation. Use a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.
Readability: Keep slide content concise. Avoid excessive details or dense text, as this reduces readability and engagement.
Visual Aids:
o Graphs and figures are often more effective than tables for oral presentations.
o Ensure that text in figures is legible from a distance.
Animations & Multimedia:
o Use animations sparingly to avoid distractions.
o If you include videos or interactive content, notify the technical team in advance.
o Do not rely on online media access, as internet connectivity may be unreliable.
Technical Support
Technical assistance is available throughout the event.
The sessions in Main Hall "Maestrale", Room1 "Scirocco", Room2 "Libeccio", Room3 "Ponente", Room4 "Levante", will have attendants and technicians on-site.
The sessions in Room5 "Aliseo", Room6 "Zefiro", Room7 "Austro", will not have technicians on-site but voluntaries will be available for technical problems.
Final Remarks
Present your work in a structured manner, similar to your paper.
Emphasise the main points of your study.
